Join renowned percussionist and Bembé-artist-in-residence Beto Torrens for a hands-on workshop on Puerto Rican bomba, an Afro-Indigenous genre that is the island’s oldest music and dance tradition. Try out different traditional instruments and learn some dance moves from UWM alum Imani Jalil of Milwaukee’s own organization Bembé Drum & Dance. No experience necessary – learn about this rich musical genre as you wrap up the semester!
