As of September 6, 2022, 496 new international students were enrolled:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>30% of new graduate students are international\u00a0<\/li><li>28% of new master\u2019s students are international\u00a0<\/li><li>50% of new doctoral students are international\u00a0<\/li><li>20% of total graduate student enrollment is international\u00a0<\/li><li>For the first time since 2015 UWM has increased the number of new international undergrads enrolled. \u00a0<\/li><li>India is currently the top sending country to UWM, but we have new students enrolled from 50+ countries\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"546\" data-id=\"3297\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students-1024x546.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students-1024x546.png 1024w, https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students-768x410.png 768w, https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students-1536x819.png 1536w, https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/600\/2022\/09\/Fall-22-Google-Map-of-New-Students.png 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Many factors have contributed to the increase of new international student enrollment, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Comprehensive strategic enrollment management initiatives\u00a0<ul><li>representation by UWM South Asia regional manager\u00a0<\/li><li>increased number of recruitment partners\u00a0<\/li><li>new undergraduate application portal \u00a0<\/li><li>marketing and outreach to applicants and admitted students \u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>International travel restrictions relaxed\u00a0<\/li><li>More welcoming atmosphere to international students in the U.S.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to CIE for all of the admissions and recruitment efforts, and to the faculty and staff members across campus who are helping these new students settle into the Panther family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are so glad you are here!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UWM has welcomed its largest incoming group of international students in UWM history.
