Use your Campus ID (991-xx-xxxx) from your official admission letter to <a href=\"https:\/\/account.uwm.edu\/public\/activate\">activate your ePantherID<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)<\/strong>. MFA is a dual-authentication system required to keep your data secure. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/digital-id\/mfa-student\/\">Set up MFA<\/a> and read the information under FAQ &gt; International Students. Bring the device with MFA with you to the U.S. to prevent problems logging in later.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Access your UWM email<\/strong>. All important information from UWM will be sent to your UWM email address. Check it frequently. Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/\">UWM main website<\/a> &gt; Quicklinks &gt; Email. provider in-person&nbsp;to get service to your cell phone from home or purchase a new one.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cricketwireless.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cricket Wireless<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mintmobile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mint Mobile<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.t-mobile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">T-Mobile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verizon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Verizon<\/a> don&#8217;t require a Social Security number. Or, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campussims.com\/universityofwisconsinmilwaukee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set up an eSIM via Mint Mobile<\/a> prior to your arrival.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get an <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/services\/students\/employment\/on-campus-employment\/\">on-campus job<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Apply for a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/services\/students\/employment\/social-security\/\">social security number<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/services\/students\/wisconsin-drivers-license-and-state-id\/\">Wisconsin state ID or&nbsp;driver\u2019s license<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-students-who-are-unable-to-arrive\">Students Who Are Unable to Arrive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>International students planning to attend UWM in-person must be on campus by the first day of classes.&nbsp;If you cannot be here on that date, you must request to defer your admission through your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.uwm.edu\/account\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">application portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DEADLINE:&nbsp;<\/strong>The deadline to request a deferral is the first day of classes for your currently admitted term.
