The Institute of World Affairs (IWA) supports Wisconsin educators by providing professional development programs and networking events on broad global themes, current world events, or specific countries and regions. As part of IWA’s Global-to-Local Service-Learning Initiative, we also offer professional development workshops that provide hand-on experiences using service-learning methodologies while exploring a global issue.
IWA also organizes informal educator programs around campus and community films, lectures and discussions. These offer teachers the opportunity to network, build community and cross-cultural connections, and access teaching resources on a range of issues, from the rights of women and girls around the world to global-to-local refugee migration.
