Panther International Pals (PIP) Program
The PIP program is designed to help ease new international students’ transition to the UWM campus and Milwaukee. Our current students are PIP Mentors, and the new international students are PIP mentees. We match students based on similar interests and hold events throughout the year to engage both mentors and mentees.
PIP’s mission is to create stronger ties among our student population and help each student gain more cultural understanding.
Are you interested in becoming a PIP mentor? – If you are a current UWM student (both U.S. and international) and are willing to be a PIP Mentor for the spring 2023 semester, sign-up will open in late November/early December 2022.
Are you interested in becoming a PIP mentee? – If you are an incoming spring 2023 UWM international student and are interested in being matched with a PIP Mentor, you can sign up here.
If you have any questions about the Panther International Pals Program, please contact Sue Conway (conways@uwm.edu) or Ying Hu (hu23@uwm.edu).

My PIP mentor is so sweet. She’s helped me with everything – from my culture shock, to telling me about all of the restaurants near campus, to sharing all of UWM’s campus resources. Whenever I have an issue I text her and she’s there for me.
