Your Child\u2019s Teacher and Classroom  <\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your child\u2019s Lead Educator will call you to introduce themselves and get to know a little more about your child, and to invite you to come with your child for a visit before their first day. Infant and Toddler teachers are required by State Licensing to meet with parents before the child\u2019s first day. In addition, we want you and your child to feel comfortable with your room and teachers before you start. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Center Contact Information <\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Center telephone number is 414-229-5384. All calls are routed through our reception desk. Please tell the receptionist what you need, so that they may take a message or transfer your call to the appropriate person. We try to limit interruptions to staff who are working with the children and still meet your needs for information. As much as possible, please refrain from calling your child\u2019s room during lunchtime (generally 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)   
<\/em><\/strong>The Center\u2019s FAX number is 414-229-2437. The Center\u2019s website is uwm.edu\/children. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absent or Late Arrival <\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please call the Center as soon as possible if your child will be absent or arriving later than their scheduled (or usual) time on any given day.  <\/strong> 
If your child has not arrived by their scheduled (usual) time we are required to call you to confirm that they are with you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your child is ill, please describe the symptoms your child is experiencing (such as \u2018fever\u2019 or \u2018sore throat\u2019). We are required to keep records on illnesses. If you call before or after operating hours \u2013 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday \u2013 please leave a voicemail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Forms<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You received three health forms with your acceptance email. Please complete, sign and date the Health History and Emergency Care Plan Form before your child\u2019s first day. Your physician should complete, sign and date the Health Report and provide your Immunizations record. You will need to provide regular updates on health and immunization as required by State Licensing.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking for Drop-off\/Pick-up<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Familiarize yourself with parking options for the Center\/campus if you don\u2019t already know them. The Center is part of a very large, land-locked campus where parking is a challenge for all. For detailed information about the parking options closest to the Center, refer to the \u2018Hours, Location, and Parking\u2019 button on the Center\u2019s website. Parking is enforced by UWM Transportation Services (414-229-4000; uwm.edu\/parking) and additional parking information may be obtained from them. Parents need to accept responsibility for any tickets received while parked in any campus parking spots.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Website\/Family Handbook\/Billing & Payment\/Parent Portal<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Check out the Center\u2019s website at uwm.edu\/children. There you can review the Center\u2019s Family Handbook (click on \u2018Forms\u2019). It has a wealth of information about Center policies and procedures, and you are held accountable for the information in it. You are also able to download many forms from the website and see \u2018Who\u2019s Who\u2019 in the Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will receive a bill from the Center by email, likely before your child even starts. Billing is done monthly, with charges for each month due on the first of that month. There is a grace period until the 10th<\/sup> of each month for you to pay your bill. If you are unable to pay your bill in full by the 10th<\/sup>, you may contact the Center\u2019s Business Manager to make payment arrangements. You can access your account and make payment through our parent portal on our website uwm.edu\/children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
