The GSF is a one-year, non-renewable fellowship that provides recipients with a monthly stipend for the academic year, coverage of in-state tuition and remission of out-of-state tuition (for students who are not residents of the State of Wisconsin). Recipients will also be eligible to enroll in state-sponsored health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-the-graduate-school-dissertation-fellowship-gsdf\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/types-of-funding\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Graduate School Dissertation Fellowship (GSDF)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This award is for current UWM PhD students who have either achieved dissertator status or will achieve dissertator status by September 1 of the award year. The GSDF is a one-year, non-renewable fellowship. Recipients receive a monthly stipend for the academic year, coverage of in-state tuition and remission of out-of-state tuition (for students who are not residents of the State of Wisconsin). Recipients will also be eligible to enroll in state-sponsored health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-the-advanced-opportunity-aop-fellowship-uwm-graduate-school\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/types-of-funding\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Advanced Opportunity (AOP) Fellowship (UWM Graduate School)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This fellowship program provides support for new and continuing qualified UWM graduate students who are members of groups underrepresented in graduate study or who are otherwise disadvantaged. Applicants must be American citizens or permanent residents of the United States. The AOP is renewable. These fellowships provide recipients with a monthly stipend for the academic year, coverage of in-state tuition and remission of out-of-state tuition (for students who are not residents of the State of Wisconsin). Recipients will also be eligible to enroll in state-sponsored health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-graduate-student-travel-award\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/types-of-funding\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Graduate Student Travel Award<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Graduate School Travel Award program offers funding to UWM master&#8217;s and doctoral students for presenting scholarly and creative works at national and international conferences, performances, or exhibitions. Such activities are an important part of the professional development of graduate students, offering opportunities to establish professional networks, contacts for collaborative research, and sources of potential future funding or employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-sigma-xi-grants-in-aid-of-research\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sigmaxi.org\/programs\/grants-in-aid-of-research\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) program has been providing undergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences for more than 80 years. By encouraging close working relationships between students and faculty, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-nsf-graduate-research-fellowship-program-grfp\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsfgrfp.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master&#8217;s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Distinguished Graduate Student Fellowship (DGSF) (UWM Graduate School) This award provides support for new and continuing UWM graduate students.
