DESCRIPTION:WiSER: A statewide community-of-practice for STEM education and professional development \nThe Wisconsin Science Education and Research (WiSER) Consortium is a self-initiated and burgeoning community-of-practice\, including >50 science educators across Wisconsin from more than 20 higher-ed institutions\, both public and private. Our shared mission is to build and implement educational and workforce programs that aim to expose learners to scientific research principles\, engage them with hands-on research experiences\, and promote their career development through a variety of programmatic opportunities. In this talk\, I will discuss three such initiatives launched by the WiSER Consortium\, including Research Deconstruction in STEM classrooms\, a statewide conference\, and a new STEM teacher training program to support the next generation of higher ed STEM educators.
