Chemistry Excursion to MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan, WI

On December 17th, a group of graduate students was invited to MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Wisconsin.

We had a great time and were able to see how chemicals are made safely on a large scale. We toured the production building directed by Dr. Hidri in addition to the Kilo-scale laboratory and the analytical facilities. Director Rob Thomas gave an excellent presentation about Millipore Sigma, which has become one of the biggest chemical companies since the merger with Merck KGaA. The site director Jeff Thurston was also present for Q&A. During our initial meeting with MilliporeSigma at UWM, we discussed new strategies to collaborate with more closely.
