It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve this remarkable university and to witness the impact our graduates make across Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, I had the privilege of receiving the&nbsp;Honorary Alumni Award&nbsp;from the UWM Alumni Association. It was a deeply moving moment, and I\u2019m humbled to be welcomed into this growing family of more than 210,000 alumni.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This video captures some of the highlights of this journey and the spirit of what we\u2019ve accomplished&nbsp;together. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"UWM Chancellor Mark Mone Surprised with Honorary Alumni Award\" width=\"1400\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qx1u0A0jvWs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As I prepare to pass the torch to Dr. Thomas Gibson, who will begin as UWM\u2019s tenth Chancellor on&nbsp;July 14, I do so with immense pride and optimism.
