The Teaching and Learning Symposium is a one-day in-person event held every January. The symposium includes a keynote and a series of presentations where the teaching and learning community shares best practices, and celebrates accomplishments. The return of the in-person Teaching and Learning Symposium offers faculty, staff, and graduate students a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and share effective teaching and learning practices.

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is excited to announce the 11th annual Teaching and Learning Symposium, taking place in-person on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Theme of 2026: Engaging Today’s Students

This year’s symposium addresses the pressing challenge of how to meaningfully engage students who arrive each semester with unique expectations, experiences, and needs. Whether seeking to engage students in class activity, readings, discussions, or the learning process, together we will share evidence-based strategies to advance student learning.
