D2L-to-Canvas Migration VIP Sessions

As you know, UWM’s transition to Canvas is in full swing! Courses will no longer be offered in D2L after Fall 2019. This summer is a great opportunity to transition your course site to Canvas! To help you with the transition, CETL is offering D2L-to-Canvas Migration VIP Sessions designed to help you migrate your D2L course to Canvas.

Who should sign up for a VIP Session?
You should sign up if you have an online course, a complicated course (e.g. large quiz banks, media, etc.) or if you feel you’d benefit from a little extra help. Normally, we ask instructors to attend a Canvas Basics workshop before the VIP Session. However, our records show that you’ve already taken the Canvas Basics workshop. Because of this, you’re receiving this announcement before the rest of the campus, which means that you’ll have priority registration.

What happens in a VIP Session?
During your VIP Session, you’ll have one-on-one support from a CETL staff member. You’ll have the consultant’s full attention for 2 hours. We’ll download your course from D2L and upload it into Canvas. We’ll also help you fix any migration issues that occurred during the move. Once the session is over, you’ll have personalized guide for publishing your course to students and you’ll be prepared to migrate any other courses from D2L to Canvas.

How do I sign up for a VIP Session?
Visit the D2L-to-Canvas Migration VIP Session, select a date and fill out the registration form.Please register as soon as possible. We anticipate that these sessions will fill up quickly.
