Center for Water Policy Seeking Undergraduate Communications Intern (Spring Semester 2025)

The Center for Water Policy is excited to announce the opportunity for an Undergraduate Communications Intern for Spring Semester 2025 (with the possibility of extension). This position offers the chance for an undergraduate student at UW-Milwaukee or another University of Wisconsin to gain hands-on experience in water policy communications, while working collaboratively with the Water Policy and Science Communications Graduate Fellow.

The intern will play a key role in managing the Center’s social media presence, creating daily posts on X (formerly Twitter) on water law and policy, and posting weekly on platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Other duties include monitoring water law and policy in the news, creating monthly analytics reports, developing outreach strategies, and providing updates to the Center’s staff during meetings.

The position allows for up to 10 hours of work per week and pays $16/hour. The successful candidate will be enrolled as a full-time student at UW-Milwaukee or another University of Wisconsin and have experience posting on social media. An interest in water issues, graphic design skills, and experience with platforms like Adobe Creative Cloud are a plus!

To apply, interested students should submit a resume (maximum one page) and cover letter (maximum one page) to the Interim Assistant Director Cora Sutherland (she/her) at sutherla@uwm.edu. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, December 15, 2024.
