Changing the World

The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Center for Advanced Materials Manufacture (CAMM) aims to become a world leader in the research and application of advanced materials manufacturing, while also being an integral resource in the transfer of selected materials manufacturing technologies to various industries within the United States. CAMM is working to develop collaborative agreements with leading materials manufacturing centers in the United States and around the world.

Center for Advanced Materials and Manufacture

CAMM, under the supervision of Dr. Pradeep Rohatgi, conducts research that is aimed at various material manufacturing industries. The current research focus consists of looking at materials that are used for lightweight transportation, energy generation, transmission and purification, biomedical applications, and green manufacturing techniques.

Impact

CAMM is working to revitalize the materials manufacturing industry within Wisconsin, but also in the United States. CAMM also hopes to further integrate and introduce Wisconsin’s higher education institutions with the state’s material manufacturing industry. CAMM is also working to create ties with national and international institutes like; the Foundry Research Institute in Poland, IIT, IISC, CSIR, and other institutes in India, Northwestern University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida-Gainesville, MIT, Stanford University, Argonne National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
