Lecture and Demonstration<\/p>\n

Stelarc, an Australian performance artist who uses medical, robotic, and virtual reality systems to extend the body’s performance possibilities, visited the Center on Friday, September 29, 1995 and gave a performance and lecture at the School of Business Administration (now Lubar Hall) room SBA N146. Stelarc gave a demonstration of his “Third Hand,” a robotic mechanism which is symbiotically controlled by his muscle signals. Stelarc continues his innovation work today and is Chair in Performance Art, School of Arts, Brunel University in West London, UK.<\/p>\n
