Selected submissions will be developed in collaboration with C21 staff and will be provided with a working budget of $1,000. This event programming offers a hands-on opportunity that will make a strong addition to any graduate CV. Applications may be\u00a0submitted\u00a0by individual students or groups. C21 reserves the right to have final approval of all projects.\u00a0All\u00a0project proposals MUST include\u00a0a public-facing\u00a0component\u00a0or other tangible\u00a0final\u00a0deliverable\u00a0that will be enacted, presented, or\u00a0disseminated\u00a0on C21\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Day of\u00a0Action<\/strong>, a day of events celebrating the Slow Action theme, slated for May 8, 2027. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C21 is seeking proposals that take up the theme of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/events\/slow\/slow-action\/\">Slow Action<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a mode of engagement that purposefully resists the logic of zero-sum efficiency in favor of durable, values-rooted ways of being and doing together. The theme invites graduates to investigate critical questions surrounding forms of action that are not rigid or unchangeable but rather are flexible, responsive, and deeply attuned to the world we each move through. While strikes, protests, and other visible forms of collective action capture immediate public attention, they are made possible only by the slower, less visible work of building trust, forming coalitions, and sustaining shared commitments across time. It is this foundational labor \u2013 patient, relational, and often unrecognized \u2013 that Slow Action seeks to illuminate. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/opportunities\/c4gphp-fy27\/\"><strong>Learn more about how to apply.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>C21 will host a hybrid information\u00a0session about the Call for Graduate Public Humanities Programming Application on Friday, September 25, 10:30-11:30 AM.<\/strong> This session will cover information on the Slow Action theme, the Day of Action, programming, tips on writing a strong application, and\u00a0frequently\u00a0asked questions.\u00a0Attending the information session is not\u00a0required\u00a0to apply, but is highly encouraged.
