UWM’s Michael Newman Named as a 2018 Television Academy Foundation Fellow

Michael NewmanMichael Newman, a previous C21 Fellow (2011-12) and professor in Journalism, Advertising, and Media Studies at UWM, has been named a Television Academy Foundation Fellow for 2018!

One of just 25 Fellows named this year, Newman will join other Television Academy Fellows in California for the weeklong Faculty Seminar Program in November. Several days of panel discussions will feature programming and scheduling executives for multiple broadcast and cable networks, legal experts and cutting-edge content creators in the industry. Attendees will also get to meet with producers and get firsthand updates on the latest TV technologies while touring active studios and Hollywood production facilities.

Michael Newman is the author of Indie: An American Film Culture, Video Revolutions: On the History of a Medium, and Atari Age: The Emergence of Video Games in America.
