CANCELLED – #ArtInHigherEd Symposium

Apr 17, 2020 - Apr 18, 2020

**Unfortunately the #ArtInHigherEd Symposium has been cancelled due to the campus-wide response to the COVID-19 outbreak. We hope to reschedule this event for sometime during spring 2021, and we will announce a new date once one has been decided. Sorry, folks! Wash your hands, stay healthy!**

Please join us for a special two-day #ArtInHigherEd Symposium hosted by C21’s #ArtInHigherEd Collaboratory and the Art History Department!

Bringing together local, regional, and national speakers from university art museums, galleries, and art history departments, the symposium explores how university art collections and exhibition spaces can be harnessed for the core missions of teaching, research, and outreach. What are the roles of museums and art collections (defined broadly across diverse media and embracing multiple traditions) in classrooms, on campuses, and in the community?

The symposium will feature talks by a variety of panelists and will begin with a keynote address by Dr. Lauren Lessing, Director of the University of Iowa’s Stanley Museum of Art. All events will take place on the first floor of Mitchell Hall.
