When Chad Venne<\/a><\/strong> talks about UWM\u2019s real estate students, there\u2019s no mistaking his enthusiasm. \u201cThe excitement this generation brings to the field is unlike what we\u2019ve seen before,\u201d says Venne, director of the Lubar College of Business\u2019 Real Estate Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMost of us found our way into the industry by accident. Today\u2019s students are entering with purpose\u2014and with skills that used to take years to develop,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That shift is reshaping the way the program prepares students. Instead of focusing only on theory, Venne has emphasized hands-on learning and industry engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll of our classes mirror real-world projects,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen students graduate, they can point to the work they\u2019ve done here and show employers exactly what they\u2019re capable of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connections outside the classroom reinforce that approach. Students regularly tour buildings, meet with company leaders, and learn directly from professional organizations such as IREM, NAIOP, and CARW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReal estate is all about collaboration,\u201d Venne said. \u201cThese partnerships give our students a head start in building their professional networks and understanding the business from the inside out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students preparing to enter a demanding job market, Venne offers a simple framework he calls \u201cthe three Gs\u201d: Grit, Great questions, and Get stuff done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe industry rewards perseverance,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd in an AI-driven world, being able to ask the right questions is just as important as knowing the answers. At the end of the day, employers want problem solvers who deliver results.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Venne is eager to grow the program\u2019s reach and resources. With enrollments climbing and local demand for talent rising, his priorities include building a job placement pipeline, launching a digital job board, and raising funds for a real estate endowment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProviding students with the education they need to land jobs will always be our top priority,\u201d he said. \u201cWith additional support, we can continue to deliver outstanding talent to Milwaukee\u2019s real estate community.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
