The couple\u2019s $300,000 gift reflects their strong belief in the power of education and giving back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the total gift, $125,000 supports the Pat &amp; Jerry Moriarity Scholarship for accounting and finance students. An additional $50,000 to support the Jerry Leer\/In Memory of Roy H. Tellier, Sr. Scholarship\u2014named after a beloved professor who made a lasting impact on their lives. The remainder will support the College\u2019s Special Projects Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both first-generation college students, Pat and Jerry earned their business degrees from UWM, with Jerry later completing his MBA. They went on to enjoy successful careers\u2014Pat as Senior VP and Controller for Firstar (now US Bank), and Jerry as Assistant Controller for Miller Brewing Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Moriarity\u2019s leadership and legacy were honored during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Lubar Hall on April 18, where the newly named student lounge was unveiled.
