{"id":114,"date":"2021-03-12T09:39:05","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T15:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business\/?page_id=114"},"modified":"2026-10-02T11:39:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T16:39:37","slug":"admission-tuition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business\/students\/admission-tuition\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission and Tuition (Graduate)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h2 id=\"h-admission-requirements\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re excited to have you join the Lubar College of Business and we hope the following information will be useful as you start the application process for Graduate School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will carefully consider all elements in your application file as we determine if you will be a good fit for our graduate programs.<em>&nbsp;However, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">1. Completion of Undergraduate Degree<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants must hold a degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution in the United States or from a recognized institution in a foreign country. Many 3-year bachelor\u2019s degrees are accepted as equivalent to the U.S. 4-year bachelor\u2019s degree for purposes of admission.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">2. Cumulative GPA of 2.75<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. Those whose undergraduate GPA is below 2.75 must provide&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/admission\/\">further documentation.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">3. English Proficiency for International Student<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All UWM&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/international-admissions\/application-requirements\/graduate-english-proficiency-requirement\/\">Graduate School applicants<\/a>&nbsp;are required to demonstrate a suitable&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/international-admissions\/graduate-application\/english-proficiency-requirement\/\">level of proficiency<\/a>&nbsp;in the English language.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">4. GMAT &amp; GRE Scores<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MBA and MS Programs (excluding the MS in Professional Accounting)<br><br>Applicants are not required to submit GMAT or GRE scores if they meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree from an AACSB- or ABET-accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree from a regionally accredited institution and:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a 3.2 GPA with at least two years of relevant professional experience; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a 3.0 GPA with at least five years of relevant professional experience; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a 3.0 GPA with grades of B or better in two quantitative college-level courses; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>at least five years of military service; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>completion of a recognized professional certification such as CPA, CFA, Six Sigma, or similar credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed graduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of <strong>six or more credits of Lubar-approved post-baccalaureate coursework<\/strong>, taken within the last five years, with grades of <strong>B or better in two graduate-level courses<\/strong> (B-minus not accepted).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants who do not meet the criteria above may still be considered for admission by submitting a <strong>GMAT score of 500 or higher or a comparable GRE score<\/strong> for admission review.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">5. Master of Science in Professional Accounting MSPA<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants who have completed an AACSB-accredited undergraduate accounting degree are not required to submit GMAT or GRE scores if they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in all coursework, including repeats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GPA of 3.0 or higher in all transfer coursework.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GPA of 3.0 or higher in all accounting coursework, including BUS ADM 450.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No more than two accounting courses with a grade below B, and no accounting course with a grade of C- or lower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">6. Additional Admission Pathway<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Successful completion of two Lubar graduate courses as a non-degree seeking student, with grades of B or better in each course (B-minus not accepted).<\/strong> Courses must be approved by the program and completed within the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants may also satisfy the test-optional admission pathway by completing <strong>six or more credits of Lubar-approved post-baccalaureate coursework<\/strong>, including <strong>two graduate-level courses with grades of B or better<\/strong>, completed within the last five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Application process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will need to submit the following to complete the Graduate School&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graduateschool-apply.uwm.edu\/\">application:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transcripts from every institution of higher learning attended will be needed.
