Timothy Schaefer

Tim Schaefer is an Executive-in-Residence and adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar School of Business. At UWM, Tim has taught courses in eBusiness and Management Analysis. In addition, he provides professional and career guidance to students.

Tim Schaefer is the Managing Director of Lake Hill Advisors, LLC. His firm is focused on strategic management consulting for profit and non-profit organizations. He is currently serving as the Chief Digital Officer for a mid-sized company based in Madison, WI. In this role, he oversees digital strategy, customer experience and data science. In his career, he has built and led large, complex organizations spanning operations, technology, digital, marketing and analytics to position companies for growth and success in competitive industries.

Tim is an experienced leader of large-scale transformation, organizational change, and restructuring efforts that enable and accelerate enterprise objectives, including establishing and expanding digital product development capabilities. He joined Northwestern Mutual as an entry-level developer and over a 30-year career he rose through progressively senior roles in Service Operations and Technology to senior executive leadership.

He has been active in the non-profit community, previously serving on the boards of Next Door, the eStrategy committee of Children’s Hospital, and the UWM Foundation. He has a BBA degree from UW-Milwaukee with a focus in IT Management and has a master’s degree in Management and Organizational Behavior.
