Dr. Ramamurthy specializes in electronic commerce with inter-organizational systems/electronic data interchange and the Internet; IT business value; data resource management and data warehousing; decision and knowledge systems for individuals and groups; adoption, assimilation, and diffusion of modern IT; role of IT in non-profit organizations; IT outsourcing; and total quality management, including software quality.

Professional Activities

Dr. Ramamurthy was an Associate Editor of MIS Quarterly, the Premiere Journal in Information Systems, for four years and has been a reviewer for over 15 prestigious scholarly journals in information systems. He was a charter member of the Association for Information Systems. Dr. Ramamurthy has published extensively (over 50 research articles) in top-tier and highly regarded academic journals such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information & Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Human–Computer Studies, Journal of International Marketing, OMEGA, INFOR, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Information Technology Cases and Application Research. Dr. Ramamurthy has presented his research (over 30 articles) nationally and internationally in refereed scholarly conference proceedings. Dr. Ramamurthy has received several research awards within Lubar School of Business (Roger L. Fitzsimonds, James R. Mueller, Business Advisory Council), from International Conference on Information Systems -ICIS (Premiere Conference in IS), and from the Operation Research Society (Stafford Beer Award for Excellence in Research) London, U.K. His research has been extensively cited by others in IS discipline. Dr. Ramamurthy also has close to 20 years of industry experience, holding several senior technical and executive positions
