Areas of Expertise

Dr. Doran’s current research interests are in the areas of educational technology, development, implementation, and maintenance of outcomes based education, and culture and its effects on information systems. He has published papers in the areas of the effects of culture on information systems, groupware, data envelope analysis, knowledge management, educational technology, and productivity.

Dr. Doran has been on the faculties of Rabdan Academy and Zayed University in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He has taught in Canada, the United States, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the UAE, England, Poland, and the Ukraine.

At previous institutions, Dr. Doran has been heavily involved in accreditation efforts. He has developed undergraduate and graduate programs in Information Systems, Enterprise Systems, and a joint Business and IT program. He is a reviewer for many conferences and publishers, and has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers on two occasions.

Professional Activities

Dr. Doran is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), which serves society through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. AIS is the premier professional association for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide.
