Lubar College of Business student Olivia Limmex has been named the Association for Supply Chain Management’s (ASCM) Wisconsin Student of the Year. ASCM is the largest non-profit association for supply chain and a global leader in supply chain organizational transformation, innovation, and leadership.
ASCM recognized Olivia for her outstanding leadership and involvement inside and outside of the classroom.
Olivia is set to graduate this May with a double major in supply chain and operations management and marketing. Over the last two years, she has served as president of the campus Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA), where she has been a member since her freshman year.
She has regularly volunteered at events to promote the supply chain major to incoming business students, current students still exploring majors, and transfer students. Olivia also completed two supply chain internships in purchasing and inventory management during her time at UWM.
“It’s been really gratifying to watch Olivia grow professionally and develop her leadership skills,” says Mark Kosfeld, Lecturer and Associate Director of the Supply Chain Management Institute, who nominated Olivia for the award. “We’re very proud that she’s been recognized for standing out among all supply chain students in the state.”
After graduation, Olivia has accepted a position as a supply chain rotational analyst with Charter Manufacturing, where she will gain experience across the company’s many divisions. Her first rotation will be at Charter Dura-Bar in Woodstock, IL. Over the next three years, Olivia will rotate to positions in purchasing and procurement, supply and demand planning, and material and operation scheduling at the company.
