How can I help?

Updated March 24, 2017

  • Share UWM’s stories of success and tout the excellent work happening in your departments and across campus.
  • Follow UWM on social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram) and join a community of 150,000+ Panther supporters.
  • If every employee would share a UWM story via social media, we would reach more than 500,000 people who may not know about UWM
  • If you were a first generation college student, share your story!
  • Network while you are on the road. Promote UWM.

Fund Development and Support

  • Share the names of successful alumni and others who may be interested in supporting UWM with your school/college, development officer, or Vice Chancellor Patricia Borger.
  • Be available to help when Development or Alumni Relations ask by making an introduction to a potential donor, explaining your work to a potential donor, or making a presentation to campus volunteers.
  • Make a personal gift and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

Networking – Alumni

Panther Pride

  • Participate in in UWM Spirit Days –
  • Boost Panther Pride by wearing your black & gold apparel on Fridays and your UWM shirt on the weekend.
  • Volunteer to become a UWM Ambassador and share your UWM experience with prospective students and their families.
  • Showcase UWM buttons and stickers: 2017 versions of UWM “Panther Proud” buttons and stickers are available for pick-up in the Chapman Hall lobby, Human Resources lobby in Engelmann 125, SHAC Office in Sandburg Hall and the Student Association Office in Union EG79.

  • Promote the campus to potential students and encourage them to visit. Connect those students with either the Graduate or Undergraduate Admissions Office so they can provide materials and invite prospective students to visit the campus.
  • Host an “About UWM” event at your child’s school with support from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (high school) or TRIO & PreCollege Programs (middle school).
  • Share successful recruiting methods that you are using in your department that others might not be.
