July 9, 2016
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Please plan to attend the July 16 Campus Budget Town Hall meeting from 1-2 p.m. in the Student Union, Ballroom East. The Wisconsin Assembly and the Senate both passed the two-year $72.7 billion state budget and it is now headed to Governor Walker for his signature, which is anticipated within the next few days.
Together with shared governance leaders representing students, faculty and staff, Provost Johannes Britz, Vice Chancellors Robin Van Harpen and Tom Luljak, Chief Legal Counsel Joely Urdan and I will provide updates on:
- What has transpired since the last campus budget town hall meeting on May 8
- Details on the 2015-17 biennial state budget and the expected cut to the UW System
- Walk through of the expected allocations from UW System to UWM
- Shared governance, tenure and indefinite status
Recognizing that it is summer and many are away from campus, we will livestream the July 16 Campus Budget Meeting: https://uwm.edu/streamingvideo/universityrelations/
