UW-Milwaukee buyout offer could extend to about 7% of employees

About 7% of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee employees could qualify for a voluntary early retirement buyout to help offset looming budget cuts, but the number of offers could be fewer because it’s unclear which departments will be included.

The incentive provides a one-time payment to eligible employees of half their base salary. They must be vested with the Wisconsin Retirement System and qualify for a full annuity as of July 1.
