The Greenhouse’s first annual involvement in the Doors Open Milwaukee Event on Sunday saw over 400 guests! Look for this event again next year!

The Greenhouse would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone who made this event possible:

-Amber, Doug & Tom for help in planning and brainstorming
-Tom for multiple, last minute poster printings as well as the loan of a few of his flower pots from home, for added color to the greenhouse displays
-Nancy for printing colored displays for me, again, and again and again
-Julie Oliver for donating a day out of her busy schedule to provide repeated talks on the use of fluorescence as a tool for understanding plant development
-Heather and Juleen for providing the demonstration materials for Julie
-Bretta Speck for donating part of her day to help direct guests and talk about her interesting research
-Staff volunteer Londan Roohr for helping groom and prep plants prior to the event and also helping today to answer questions and direct guests
-The custodial staff of Joe, Nicki, Ben, Peter & 2nd shift crew for helping to clean and seal the floors to a lovely shine
-The greenhouse student volunteers: Zachary Nelson & Maddie Houchin, and staff volunteer Melody Harris for helping prep the facility and make the plants look a little better

The role each of you played was crucial to the success of this event – Thank you!
