Dr. Peter Dunn, current Biological Sciences faculty member, and Linda Whittingham, Biological Sciences Professor Emeritus, recently published their research in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). Their research focuses on female warbler preferences in male ornamentation. Read their publication here.
Their findings saw that females prefer males with showier ornamentation, but preferences can differ between populations. They also used genomics to identify genes that influence the ornamentation.
The UWM Report wrote a feature on their research as well. Read the article here.
Congratulations to both!
