The concert showcases a diverse program of beloved classical favorites and audience-pleasing selections. \n\n\n\nThe University Community Orchestra is a full symphonic ensemble that welcomes players of all standard orchestral instruments—including strings\, woodwinds\, brass\, and percussion. Open to UWM students\, faculty\, staff\, and community members ages 15 and up\, the ensemble offers a supportive environment for intermediate-level musicians to rehearse and perform together. No advance preparation is required; students learn pieces at the festival and conclude the morning with the high school and middle school choirs singing for one another and together. That moment was the beginning of your life as a musician. And now that your skills are strengthening in high school\, it’s time to think about college as your next step to lifelong success in the music industry. See for yourself what it is like to be a music major at UW-Milwaukee. \nPrelude: Day in the Life of a Music Major is a FREE event for high school musicians in their sophomore\, junior\, or senior years. It features faculty performances\, breakout sessions by primary instrument/voice\, large ensemble rehearsals\, an interactive music theory class\, and more.
