Alum Julia Bradfish (BFA 2023, Studio Art) is the Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel’s first back-to-back artist in residence. Having begun her residency in September 2025, Bradfish will continue the role through 2026.
In a TMJ4 story by James Groh, Bradfish discusses her abstract painting process and how her residency has expanded her artistic practice.
“I’m inspired by color palettes that I see in the world. And it’s not just pretty things that you see. A lot of people will think, ‘oh, sunsets,’ but I’m inspired by the random rubble from construction sites,” Bradfish said.
