UWM Jewelry & Metalsmithing Studio

Enrolled participants will be provided an access code to work in the designated studio. “Blackout” dates due to scheduled summer workshops will be posted at the studio. For safety reasons, participants MUST work in pairs for all studio activities (no one is allowed to work alone). A student technician will be on duty 8 hours per week and can provide scheduled training on equipment and assist you if you’re having difficulty. No formal instruction is provided as a part of this program.

This program is only for experienced students with previous training seeking studio access to make their own self-guided projects. Open Jewelry + Metalsmithing Studio

$175 current UWM Jewelry & Metals / Digital Fabrication concentration students
$195 UWM student (non-concentration) or UWM Alumni
$230 Access to BOTH the Jewelry & Metals studio (UWM Art Building Rm. A391 – 2400 E Kenwood Blvd) and the Digital Fabrication & Design studio (KSE Rm. 368/375) 1925 E. Kenilworth Ave).

Participants will have access to all community tools (saws, files, pliers, hammers, etc.) and full use of the soldering, annealing, enameling, etching, and casting stations. You will be able to utilize all power tools including band saw, drill presses, belt sanders, sandblaster, and Foredom rotary tools. The studio will provide torch fuel, pickle, and etching solution. Participants will need to provide their own project materials such as metal, enamel, soldering supplies, or casting investment powder.

Open Digital Fabrication & Design Studio

$195 current UWM Jewelry & Metals / Digital Fabrication concentration students
$210 UWM student (non-concentration) or UWM Alumni
$230 Access to BOTH the Jewelry & Metals studio (UWM Art Building Rm. A391 – 2400 E Kenwood Blvd) and the Digital Fabrication & Design studio (KSE Rm. 368/375) 1925 E. Kenilworth Ave).

Participants will have access to all community tools (hand tools, saws, files, pliers, hammers, etc.) and use of the laser engraver, 3D printers, vinyl cutter, and CNC equipment. You will be able to utilize all power tools including band saw, drill presses, belt grinders, sandblaster, lathes, mills, and Foredom rotary tools. Participants must provide their own project materials such as tooling, printer filament, metal, paint, powder coat, laser cutting wood or acrylic, etc.
