Real Men Sing

Summary of Events

Open to all students in grades 7-12 who identify as male. No advance preparation necessary. Students will break into a 7th-8th and a 9th-12th grade choir. The event will conclude with performances from both ensembles!

9th-12th Grade
Directed by Dr. Zack Durlam, UWM Director of Choral Activities

Deadline: Limited to the first 800 9th-12th and 300 7th-8th students registered. UWM’s 2018 Real Men Sing! festival is currently full. Numbers are constantly shifting, however, so if you’re interested in attending, e-mail Dr. Zack Durlam at durlam@uwm.edu to find out if we have room to include your students.

Cost: $60 per school

Schools that have successfully registered may submit their payments through the Peck School of the Arts Box Office.

7:15AM
Check-in & seating: Students should dress professionally and according to their school dress code. No uniform performance attire is required.

8–11:30AM
Warm-ups, rehearsal, sectionals (7th-8th only), and performance the UWM Men’s Choir and Midnight Croon barbershop quartet.

11:30–Noon
Performances by 7th-8th students, 9th-12th students, and combined choirs.

Music

Schools must provide music for each participating singer. Music can be ordered from Brass Bell which has the music available at a discount.
