Her Craftsbury Trio immerses audiences into a fresh\, natural and vibrant feeling of life in small town USA. The blockbuster Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor\, Op. 25 by Johannes Brahms rounds out the program. \n \nCurated by UWM viola professor Claudia Lasareff-Mironoff this CMM program includes guest artists from the International Chamber Artists and the Chicago Philharmonic.  \n \n\nSang Mee Lee\, violin \n \nClaudia Lasareff-Mironoff\, viola\, Paula Kosower\, violoncello \n \nPatrick Godon\, piano \n\nFounded in 2001 and based at UWM\, Chamber Music Milwaukee has collaborated with many of today’s most exciting and important performers and composers. The series presents thematic programming that introduces innovative concert formats while exploring a broad diversity of repertoire. The concert is open to the public.\n\n\nConcert Chorale is the flagship ensemble of the five-choir choral program at UW-Milwaukee. SUMMARY:Jazz Ensembles
DESCRIPTION:Date & TimeThursday\, March 11\, 2027 (7:30–9 p.m.) \n\n\nLocationKenilworth Square East\, Jan Serr Studio \n\n\nJoin us for an evening of jazz featuring the UWM Jazz Ensemble\, the UWM Afro-Caribbean Jazz Orchestra and the UWM Youth Jazz Ensemble (UJAY).  \nThe UWM Jazz Ensemble focuses on styles from the Swing Era through contemporary composers. The ensemble is open to all UWM undergraduate and graduate music majors\, as well as non-music major students.  \nThe UWM Afro-Caribbean Jazz Orchestra features a Latin percussion section\, horns\, and vocalists. It performs music by composers such as Tito Puente\, Ray Barretto\, Sonoro Poncena\, Evan Linns\, and more. The ensemble was formed in the Fall of 2021 to focus on Afro–Caribbean jazz-influenced music.  \nThe UWM Youth Jazz Ensemble (UJAY) is a big band that prepares both classic and modern big band charts in weekly rehearsals during the academic year.  \n \n\nThe bar is open! With its dynamic instrumentation (soprano\, flute\, clarinet\, violin\, cello\, piano\, and two percussion)\, Khemia’s unique sound world encompasses the presentation of new classical music with a mix of acoustic chamber works\, multimedia\, and multi-genre influences. \nKhemia has been featured in venues and festivals including National Sawdust\, the Wunsch New Music Festival\, Mizzou International Composers Festival\, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art\, and Argentina’s Biennial New Music Festival. Passionate artist educators\, Khemia has held residencies at more than a dozen universities in North and South America. The ensemble’s eight members also hold faculty positions at academic and arts institutions across the U.S. including University of Georgia\, Florida State University\, University of Missouri\, University of North Carolina-Greensboro\, Utah Valley University\, and the Moab Music Festival. \nCommitted to expanding the chamber music repertoire\, Khemia has commissioned and premiered over 130 works by professional and student composers and has two studio albums: Voyages (Bandcamp\, 2016) and Intersections (Ravello Records\, 2022) featuring seven Khemia-commissioned works. \nKhemia Ensemble is Amy Petrongelli (soprano)\, Mary Matthews (flute)\, Mark Cramer (guest clarinet)\, Francesca Anderegg (violin)\, Eli Lara (cello)\, Annie Jeng (piano)\, Shane Jones (percussion)\, & Chelsea Tinsler Jones (percussion). \nKhemia’s name is derived from the Greek word χημεία (chemistry) and is pronounced KEM-ee-uh. \n \n\nTickets are not required for this FREE event. \n\n\n \n\nView Livestream \nView Program (PDF)

This event will include performances of high school bands and to showcase their hard work as student musicians. Concert bands will have the opportunity to perform in UWM’s Bader Hall\, receive feedback from wind band experts\, and work with a clinician after their performance. We hope you join us for this festival of concert bands! \nApplications\nApplications must be received by October 19\, 2026. Bands selected to perform will be announced at the end of October. No audio/video recordings or application fees are required. As part of the application\, band directors must submit a list of repertoire their band performed in the 2025-2026 academic year. \n\nFestival Application\n\nCosts & Registration\nOnce High School bands have been announced\, directors of the selected bands will complete the registration form found in their confirmation email. Registration is $350 per band. This covers the cost of clinicians\, facilities\, performances\, tickets and livestream. Audience tickets are free. \nFestival Finale Concert\nWe encourage all bands to watch the performances of other bands.
