Steve Teeple (aka Teeps) is a Los Angeles-based digital artist known for his supernatural and mythic-inspired creations where he specializes in 3D Character Development, Digital Sculpting, Concept/Digital Art, Visual Development, Illustration, and 3D Printing. Teeple’s client list spanning a vast collection of industries from Games, Fashion, Music, Commercial and Corporate Marketing, TV, and Film. In music, he has collaborated with The Weekend, Billie Eilish, Erykah Badu, and Lil Nas X. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2010), he majored in Interdisciplinary Arts and Technology, exploring interactive media, digital synthesis, and motion graphics.

Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Monika Plioplyte

Chicago-based artist Monika Plioplyte was born in Lithuania and immigrated to the US in her early teens. Her practice is driven by Lithuanian Baltic folklore, female archetypes, personal rituals, and the uncanny. She collages printed and cut paper, photographs, and other materials into narrative structures that explore reflections on the past, the transmission of information, gender, and states of "in-betweenness" as they relate to her immigrant experience.

Born in West Texas, Kill Joy explores mythology from around the world and studies ancient symbols. Her research is infused in her art practice, which includes printmaking, mural painting, book making, and puppetry. Currently based in Houston, Kill Joy has created community murals around the world.

Tomiko Jones’ photography and multidisciplinary installations explore social, cultural and geopolitical transitions, considering the twin crises of too much and too little in the age of climate change. Loose narratives unfold in sculptural video installations and questionably fictional photographs. She is Associate Professor of Art at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Cynthia Brinich-Langlois’ work addresses altered topographies, cartographic systems of ordering space, and metaphorical interpretations of ecological systems. She has exhibited her prints, books, and video animations in solo and group shows throughout the United States and abroad and has worked as an artist-in-residence at Elsewhere Artists Collaborative, Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, Montello Foundation, and Ucross Foundation, among others. Brinich-Langlois’ is Teaching Faculty in Printmaking & Book Arts at UW-Milwaukee.

Eckert is an emerging environmental artist who studies the impacts of place-based artworks on community engagement and land stewardship. Lehtinen’s artistic practice critiques AI technologies by contrasting automatic machine-made processes with tactile, hands-on practices like print and papermaking.
