Double Reed Day is open to double reed players of all ages and levels. Join Katherine Steele and Beth Giacobassi, the UWM music department’s double reed faculty, and your fellow players for a day of master classes, workshops and faculty and student ensemble performances. Enjoy lunch, a raffle and presentation by our vendors. Take time to browse double-reed vendors from all over the country, try new bassoons and oboes, sight read with other participants, play an English horn or contrabassoon, and end the day with a recital featuring UWM faculty and the Double Reed Day Ensemble!

The bulk of the registrations will be done ahead of time. Price per participant is $30. We will need the box office open from 8:30-9:45 for registrations on the day of. We will be using all of the main floor of Zelazo. Set up is as follows: Chapel: 27 charivari chairs (2 semi-circles and one chair where conductor would stand, along with one music stand with this chair.) 2-8' rec tables on one end of the room along with 4 more music stands Lobby: 2-8' tables with 4 chairs for registration by the doors of Bader Hall. In addition 6 chaivari chairs and stands next to north registration table for chamber music and EH/Contra demos. 280: 12-8' rectangular tables with 2 chairs each arranged in upside down U. Inside the U space 10 circular tables with 6 chairs each. 4 chiavari chairs and stands off to one side. One cordless mic. Bader: 60 Chiavari chair with stands arranged in 3 semi-circles. 1 4.5x9' piano stage right, 3-8'rec tables stage left, cordless mic Need one cart available to transport vendor items
