THE JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY IS OFTEN A BUMPY RIDE FOR THE QUEER TRAVELER:
An Evening with artist Frédéric Moffet
Experimental Tuesdays & the Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival are thrilled to welcome Frédéric Moffet up from Chicago to share a program of his film and video work.
Moffet’s poetic re-understandings of queer spaces, lives, and texts have — beautifully, tenderly — unveiled anew such subjects as Jean Genet; sanctuaries for birds and cruising gay men; a movie star in decline; and communities hazarded for fellow travelers.
Moffet once said: “The task at hand is to research, rethink, and rewrite. In many of my projects, the strategy of choice has been to queer the archive, creating a new, hybridized text that reactivates the past and reframes the present.”
Program details to be announced. Q&A to follow the screening.
