Masso Quartet Recital

February 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm CST

Masso Quartet Recital
is a Chicago-based saxophone quartet first formed at Northwestern University. While embracing the study and presentation of the classical repertoire, masso is equally committed to the commissioning, performance, and democratization of contemporary classical music.

As a young quartet, masso was awarded third prize in the 2022 North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition, and beyond performing all over Northwestern’s campus, they regularly perform in concert halls, public schools, local events, and fundraisers throughout the Chicago-land area.

masso aims to develop and interact with culturally/socially relevant art, and seeks to bring deeper value to their work as saxophonists. With recently awarded grant funding, masso is currently working on inter-acts, a project exploring how compositional narratives can increase legibility in New music. In this commissioning endeavor, research project, and concert series, the quartet hopes to connect more directly with composers, audiences, and artistic communities at large.
