UWM Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble is comprised of 20 undergraduate and graduate students devoted to the study and performance of big band jazz and related styles of music arranged for this instrumentation. We emphasize music composed and performed by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Woody Herman to Gil Evans, Charles Mingus, and Quincy Jones to Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Maria Schneider. In addition, the band serves as a vehicle to feature the arrangements and original compositions of students. Current members, Luke Daniels and Eddy Magallanes, will each have arrangements performed this semester.
