Instrumental Ideas II: Improvised Songs with Argopelter

October 30, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us as the UWM Musicology & Ethnomusicology continues its Instrumental Ideas series with a performance by the Milwaukee-based trio Argopelter. Through this series, we explore musical instruments (from wood and wire to electronics) as foundational elements of not only creative processes from composition to improvisation but also the experiences of listeners and the formation and maintenance of musical genres.

Argopelter, comprised of Field Report members Christopher Porterfield (guitar), Barry Paul Clark (bass), and Devin Drobka (drums), aims to communicate the atmosphere of song through improvised performance. This trio primarily exists in performance format, and due to the nature of improvisation, each show is a unique experience for all involved.
