November 5 - November 6

Hybrid Hybrid Event

Baroque and Beyond: UWM Choral/Orchestral Masterworks Concert
The UWM choirs and Symphony Orchestra perform music of the baroque and beyond! The first half of the program features Bach’s resplendent Magnificat led by Dr. Zack Durlam. Dr. Kevin Kriegel opens the second half conducting Handel’s coronation anthem The King Shall Rejoice. The concert closes by moving into “the beyond” with Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Toward the Unknown Region, a setting of a Walt Whitman poem exploring the afterlife. Join us for an exciting evening of choral and orchestral masterworks!

17 choral risers arranged ^vv^vvvv^vvvv^vv^ 4 choral shells - 2 in each upstage corner Conductors podium and stand 1 microphone Chairs and stands for orchestra (exact number TBD) If it's possible to have a little amplification on the choir, that would be great (when they are stuck upstage and behind the orchestra, the sound tends not to travel out into the hall as well); if not, no worries We would like to audio and video record this concert. We'd also like to livestream if possible. Also need ZEL 250 for choirs to warm up and ZEL 280 for orchestra from 6:30-9 p.m.
