Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Ricardo Levins Morales
Ricardo Levins Morales (he/him pronouns) is an artist and organizer based in Minneapolis. He uses his art as a form of political medicine to support individual and collective healing from the injuries and ongoing reality of oppression. Born into the anti-colonial movement in his native Puerto Rico, he was drawn into activism in Chicago when his family moved there in 1967. He left high school early and worked in various industries, increasingly using his art as part of his activism. Organizational commitments over the years have included the Chicago Black Panther Defense Committee, Labor Notes, the Alliance for Cultural Democracy, the Great Lakes Commons and MPD150.

All 2021-22 lectures will be FREE and offered virtually as pre-recorded events. Series supported in part by the UWM Black and Gold Committee & Differential Tuition funds, Frederick R. Layton Fund, the John Colt Memorial Art Fund, The Queer Curatorial Fund, Print Club, and OBJECT.
