Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Raoul Deal
Raoul Deal brings people of all ages together to experience how art impacts communities. Participants engage in activities that respect and honor the lives of individuals, build community pride, and create opportunities for personal and collective healing. In carrying out these projects, he frequently thinks about the following two questions: “What happens to art when communities matter?” -and- “What happens to communities when art matters?”  He is a Senior Lecturer at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Artist-in-Residence for UWM’s Cultures and Communities Program and he coordinates the PSOA Community Arts BA Program. He has carried out numerous community engagement projects in Milwaukee and in Mexico over the past 25 years.

All 2022-23 lectures will be FREE and live virtual/zoom events. Series supported in part by the UWM Black and Gold Committee & Differential Tuition funds, Frederick R.
