Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Barbara Miner
Barbara Miner is a writer, photographer and multimedia artist, currently in her third year of the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has more than 40 years’ experience in publishing, and entered the MFA program to learn new skills and to take advantage of the art community at Peck. Much of her work in recent years has focused on Milwaukee, including her MFA thesis exhibition: “Shadows of Industrialization.” The project examines the collapse of once-powerful manufacturing industries in Milwaukee, and the effects on the city’s families, workers and neighborhoods.
All 2022-23 lectures will be FREE and live virtual/zoom events. Series supported in part by the UWM Black and Gold Committee & Differential Tuition funds, Frederick R. Layton Fund, the John Colt Memorial Art Fund, The Queer Curatorial Fund, Center for 21st Century Studies, Print Club, Focus, and OBJECT.
