Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Arielle Romano

March 2 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Arielle Romano
Arielle Romano is a Milwaukee-based Painter who is pursuing her MFA at UW-Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts. She is a recent graduate from UW-Parkside where she earned her BFA in 2018. Romano creates paintings where pop-culture influences and art history references are shuffled together and re-imagined to convey uncanniness. Her works attempt to glorify the mundane through re-contextualization and incite new parallels between classical works of art and the contemporary. Romano’s work has been exhibited in galleries in southeastern Wisconsin as well as at UW-Milwaukee’s Union Gallery.

All 2021-22 lectures are free virtual events. Series supported in part by the UWM Black and Gold Committee & Differential Tuition funds, Frederick R. Layton Fund, the John Colt Memorial Art Fund, The Queer Curatorial Fund, Print Club, and OBJECT.
