Prior to retirement in 2016, Katie Moran Bart was a music educator for the public schools in Wisconsin for 38 years. She is currently an adjunct instructor in Music Education in the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She received her B.A. degree in Music Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She has taught elementary music in the Richland Center Public Schools, Swallow Elementary School (Arrowhead H.S. District), and Burleigh Elementary in the Elmbrook Schools. She has also been an adjunct music instructor at UW-Milwaukee and Carroll University. She has taught various workshops,classes and graduate seminars through Cardinal Stritch University. She has been an active member of music organizations such as WMEA, NAFME and ACDA. She has presented workshops and sessions for each of these organizations on the topics of music education. She has served as a guest clinician at many choral festivals in the Midwest for Middle School and High School levels as well as churches. She was a guest musician in the 2013 ACDA-MN conference playing her own composition, Blessing (Kjos Music, C8425) with an all-state High School Festival Choir of select high school women and the Manitou Singers of St. Olaf College. She is an active church musician in various churches in the Lake Country area.
