With roughly 9,000 objects, the UWM Art Collection comprises a broad array of the global histories of art and culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our online database<\/a> has basic information and thumbnail images for many of the objects in the UWM Art Collection. Areas of special strength include prints from the 15th to 20th century, Greek and Russian Icons, American folk art, and sub-Saharan West African sculpture. Emile H. Mathis II Print Collection<\/div>
\n

The collection consists of over 1,600 prints spanning 500 years of art history, including works by Rembrandt van Rijn, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Kathe Kollwitz, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

The African Art Collection provides an encyclopedic overview of 19th and early 20th century African art, with objects from nearly one hundred different cultural areas and twenty-three different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rogers Family Collection of Greek and Russian Icons<\/div>
\n

The Rogers Family Collection consists of Greek and Russian icons dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, liturgical objects, (reliquary and processional crosses, chalices, spoons), and Byzantine coins and jewelry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blanche and Henry Rosenberg Collection of Modern Art<\/div>

With over 300 objects, the Rosenberg Collection represents the major stylistic trends of the first half of the twentieth century. Notable artists include Jean Arp, Joan Mir\u00f3, Henry Moore, Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder, and Pablo Picasso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
