Armstrong uses Hayes Award to research in Laon

Graduate Student Abby Armstrong is writing her thesis on the Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Chapel in Laon Cathedral, in Laon, France, by the late medieval woman, Joan of Flanders, under the supervision of Associate Professor Richard Leson. Thanks to the generous contribution of the Jeffrey R. Hayes Award, she traveled to France this past January to visit the chapel in Laon.

Suneja visits ARTHIST 425: Romanesque Art and Architecture

On Monday, October 24, Richard Leson’s ARTHIST 425: Romanesque Art and Architecture welcomed Cary Suneja, a bookbinder and owner of Tea Cup Bindery in Menomonee Falls.

Professor Leson gives a lecture in Denmark, hangs out with Saint Canute

In late June / early July, Associate Professor Richard Leson gave a paper on illuminated manuscripts of Guillaume de Tyr’s Histoire d’Outremer at the quadrennial meeting of the Society for the Study of the Crusades and the Latin East.

The 2015 Hoey Prize winner, Marianna Cecere, accepted the award at the reading of her paper, “Knowledge and hubris: the Astronomers miniature in the Psalter of Blanche of Castile” on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
