Shannon Rickert is a Senior Student Services Specialist in the Accessibility Resource Center – Deaf/Hard of Hearing department housed in Mitchell Hall.  She has worked as an interpreter for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing since 2004 and as a C-Print captionist since 2016.  She obtained her Associates degree in Educational Interpreting from Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, WI in 2004 and her Bachelors of Arts degree from UWM in 2007.  She has been nationally certified since 2008 and holds her state licensure as well.  She is an advocate for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community and feels passionate about her career by striving for excellence each day.

Outside of UWM, Shannon enjoys raising her four children, spending time outdoors, spending time with friends and family and getting involved in her church and community.
